Starting Thursday morning, April 26 and ending Sunday evening, April 29, Union Pacific will be conducting important bridge maintenance work in Martinez to alleviate delays when the bridge at this location needs to be lifted for marine traffic.
Due to the nature of this project, which involves replacing the bridge’s wire ropes, the work needs to be conducted while it is light out, between 7am and 7pm. During this time, trains will operate over the bridge along a single track. Union Pacific has worked out a traffic plan that will result in no or minimal delays; however, they have identified some trains that could be delayed. These delays, if any, should not exceed 10-15 minutes. Those trains that could be affected are:
Weekday Trains on April 26 and 27
– Westbound trains 525 and 529
– Eastbound trains 530, 536, 540, and 544
Weekend Trains on April 28 and 29
– Westbound train 729
– Eastbound trains 732, 736, and 738
As always, we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the Capitol Corridor’s safe and efficient operations.
