Peak Season for School Groups!
If you haven’t already noticed, it is peak season for school field trips, and May is one of the busiest months for school groups on Capitol Corridor. Now through June, teachers will take their students on end-of-the-year field trips. Please welcome these groups onboard, as many of the students are riding the train for the very first time. In some instances, cars may be reserved for large groups. Please be courteous to your fellow riders and store your personal items in the overhead bins to ensure there are enough seats for all of our passengers. Thanks!
June Fare increase
On Wednesday June 12, 2013 the Capitol Corridor fares will increase on a system wide average of 2%, with some fares being slightly lower or higher. The fare increase, first announced at the Capitol Corridor Business Plan Workshops on board the trains and at BART offices in January 2013, was included in the adopted FY13 operating budget and will support the continued operation and maintenance for the Capitol Corridor trains and feeder buses.

Bay to Breakers – Sunday May 19, 2013
As a result of the Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco on Sunday, May19, 2013, the following temporary changes will be in effect from 3:00 AM until 12:00 noon:
Service will be suspended at the San Francisco Financial District (SFF) and San Francisco Downtown – Shopping Center (SFS) stations. Buses will not stop at these stations between the hours of 3:00 AM and 12:00 noon. Passengers who normally use these stations should go to the San Francisco – Ferry Building station located at 101 The Embarcadero at Mission Street.
Upcoming SF Financial District Bus Stop Closure
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission plans to shut down Drumm Street in San Francisco for at least 8 months- potentially more- as part of an upcoming sewer project. This will prevent both Amtrak Thruway and MUNI buses from accessing the San Francisco Financial District bus stop (next to the Hyatt Hotel, 5 Embarcadero Center, corner of California street and Drumm street).
For the duration of the sewer project, the San Francisco Financial District bus stop (SFF) will be closed. Passengers will need to use the Ferry Building Thruway bus stop (SFC) located nearby at 101 The Embarcadero, at Mission Street.
We have been notified that this project may begin in June 2013, but no start date has been provided by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. We will notify our passengers when more information about this project becomes available.
