Earlier today, the Capitol Corridor service experienced minor delays due to a Union Pacific freight train derailment at the Davis Station, which caused damage to the station platform. While trains are running normally and are able to stop at Davis, we have had to modify boarding procedures to ensure safety.
Passengers will have access to the train from both platforms; however, until the damaged section of the platform is repaired, which could take a week or even longer, boarding and off boarding will be restricted to those train cars at the eastern end of the station (closer to Sacramento). Passengers at Davis should be also be careful to watch their footing as they board and off board the train and walk on the platform.
Thank you for your patience as we work with Union Pacific to return to normal boarding procedures at the Davis Station. We will update you as more information becomes available about the repair timeline.
