How Does It Work?

Tap once when you board your train, and tap again when you arrive at your destination. Tap twice—it’s that simple. Watch the video below for more details.

Where Can I Use It?

Use Tap2Ride to go anywhere on the Capitol Corridor train route.

Just board the furthermost train from the locomotive and tap on the Tap2Ride device when you get on and when you get off. If you decide to get off earlier or later, no problem. Your tap at your final destination recalculates your fare. It’s that flexible.

How Much Can I Save?

Use this convenient calculator to see how much you can save with Tap2Ride. It’s that easy to get on board and save.

Tap2Ride pilot program fares are $2 off the full single ride fares between the same origin and destination stations. With “fare capping”, Tap2Ride participants also receive one (1) free ride after completing four (4) one-way trips between the same origin and destination stations for any given 30 day period.
