Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors for winning the NBA Championship! A celebratory parade and rally will be taking place Friday, June 19, starting at 10 a.m. in downtown Oakland. Capitol Corridor welcomes all fans who want to come to Oakland by train to participate in the festivities!
Capitol Corridor Service
Capitol Corridor will operate according to the regular weekday schedule, and no extra service will be added. If you need assistance with trip planning or have any questions or concerns, please call 877-9-RIDECC (877-974-3322). The Capitol Corridor Transit Information Center will be available 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. this Friday.
Getting to the Festivities
The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Broadway on 11th St., though fans are allowed to line up as early as 5 a.m. A map and event details can be found here.
To reach the area where celebrations will be held, fans can take the Capitol Corridor to either Richmond or Oakland Coliseum and transfer to BART to ride directly to the 19th St. or 12th St. stations located along Broadway in downtown Oakland. The one-way fare from Richmond to 12th St. is $2.80, and from Oakland Coliseum to 12th St. it is $1.85. You can buy a $10.00 value BART ticket in the Café Car for only $8.00, with the bonus of avoiding long lines at the BART pay stations!
Passengers can also take Capitol Corridor to the Jack London Square Amtrak Station (2nd & Alice) and walk about 15 minutes up from the station.
Taking Capitol Corridor Home
Those returning home from the celebrations in Oakland can take Capitol Corridor back to Sacramento or San Jose. Here are the recommended return trains:
South to San Jose Diridon (SJC) from Jack London Square:
– Train 537 departing at 2:03 p.m.
Northeast to Sacramento (SAC) from Jack London Square:
– Train 532 departing at 1:25 p.m.
– Train 534 departing at 2:50 p.m.
Northeast to Sacramento (SAC) from Richmond (via 12th St. or 19th St. BART stations):
– Train 532 departing at 1:47 p.m.
– Train 534 departing at 3:12 p.m.
Walking Directions from Rally Site to Jack London Square Amtrak Station:
Walk on 11th or 12th streets and turn left on Oak, Madison, Jackson, or Alice streets toward the station located at 2nd and Alice.
BART and AC Transit Service
Due to street closures and traffic delays, AC Transit buses that normally run through the downtown area will be detoured. For more information see AC Transit’s Warriors Parade service. BART will offer extra service, and more information can be found on their site here.
