Saturday, August 18, 2012 – Bus Bridge between Sacramento and Davis stations
Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR), in conjunction with the City of Sacramento will be relocating tracks at the Sacramento station as part of the Sacramento Railyards project – affecting all trains traveling between the Sacramento and Davis stations. This is the second phase of a two-phase project. Please read below for further information.
Bus Bridge: During this signal project, some morning and early afternoon Capitol Corridor trains will not operate between Sacramento and Davis stations. Instead, connecting buses will carry passengers between those two stations. Buses will operate as close as possible to the published weekend train schedule times between these two stations, honoring Capitol Corridor rail tickets, but may arrive up to 20 minutes later than the scheduled train times. Trains are expected to operate on the remainder of the route on the published weekend train schedule. The following trains are expected to be bus-bridged:
Westbound Capitol Corridor trains 743, 745, 747, 749, 751
Eastbound Capitol Corridor trains 732, 734, 736, 738, 742. For train 742, passengers traveling beyond Sacramento will be bused from Davis to Sacramento then transfer to a separate train and continue to Auburn, CA (ARN). These eastbound trains are scheduled to operate normally to Sacramento, but may be required to bus between Davis and Sacramento depending on project progress: 744, 746, 748.
Unaccompanied Minors [Children 15 and younger]: Please be aware that unaccompanied children will not be permitted to transfer between trains and buses for the bus bridge connections between Sacramento and Davis indicated above and as specified in the Amtrak Unaccompanied Minor Policy.
Bicycle Advisory: Due to limited space aboard the motorcoach buses used for the bus bridge, Capitol Corridor strongly discourages cyclists from traveling with bicycles on affected trains between Sacramento and Davis August 18, 2012.
