Capitol Corridor service during the BART strike

BART service has been temporarily halted due to a labor strike. Presently, BART is not offering train service to any BART stations.

Capitol Corridor’s train service will continue uninterrupted, but the BART strike will affect Capitol Corridor passengers who use the Richmond or Oakland Coliseum station stops to transfer between BART and Capitol Corridor trains.

For Monday, July 1, 2013 all Capitol Corridor trains and connecting buses will operate regularly scheduled service, though transfers to BART at the Richmond and Oakland Coliseum stations are temporarily suspended.

The Richmond Amtrak / Capitol Corridor platform will remain open for Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains during the strike for those riders en route to Richmond or for those riders who originate there.

Capitol Corridor trains may carry more riders than usual, resulting in less available seating on board. Due to rail equipment demands, we are limited in our ability to add additional coaches to trains or increase service to accommodate extra ridership.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our regular passengers and thank you for your cooperation. We will do our best to provide you with the level of service you are accustomed to.

We encourage you to call the Bay Area’s 511 information line, or visit https://alert.511.org/ for Bay Area transportation alternatives during the strike and the latest news.
