Placer County Reduced Fares Extended Through September
Great news! Reduced fares for Placer County mutli-ride tickets have been extended through September 15, 2015. Ten-ride and monthly tickets are available at reduced prices for passengers traveling between any of the three Placer County stations (Auburn, Rocklin, and Roseville) and Davis or Sacramento. Rider Tips: Stay Safe Around the Tracks
Rail related injuries and fatalities occur all across the country, and unfortunately Capitol Corridor is no exception. In light of the increasing number of trespasser incidents we’ve experienced over the past months, we would like to remind passengers that rail accidents are completely avoidable by exercising these safety precautions when in the vicinity of train tracks:
- Cross tracks only at designated pedestrian or roadway crossings. Do not walk along the tracks or cross at an undesignated location.
- When driving in your car, stop behind the safety line as soon as the crossing gate lights flash and the gates start to lower. Do not attempt to beat the train—trains travel at fast speeds, cannot stop quickly, and cannot steer out of your way if you get stuck on the tracks.
- Stay behind the yellow line when waiting for the train at the station. If there are multiple platforms, do not cross over to the other platforms until your train has stopped and you have looked both ways to make sure no other trains are approaching.
- Be alert when around trains or train tracks. Avoid texting, using headphones, or other distractions that might prevent you from hearing and seeing an approaching train.
Courtesy Reminder—Use Your “Inside Voice” on the Train
Traveling with others is a great experience—you can chat with your friends, play games with your family, or swap stories with a neighbor. Just make sure to be aware of your noise level so as not to disturb other passengers. The same goes for listening to music and watching videos. Not everyone shares the same musincal tastes, so headphones must not emit any sound audible to others. Quiet Cars are available on select weekday trains for passengers who want a little extra peace and quiet, but as a common courtesy please keep noise at a reasonable level in all cars on the train.
