One Week to Go Before Super Bowl 50!

After months of anticipation and planning, the big day is now just one week away! On Sunday, February 7, Super Bowl 50 will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, steps from the Capitol Corridor’s Santa Clara/Great America Station. Whether you’re a football fanatic or can’t wait for Monday, February 8 to arrive, there’s no denying February 7 will be a huge day for the Capitol Corridor, as we prepare to carry up to 3,000 fans to and from the championship matchup between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos!

Capitol Corridor and BART: The Winning Team for Travel Between San Francisco and Santa Clara

It’s easy to connect to Capitol Corridor’s direct route to Levi’s Stadium by taking Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). From any downtown San Francisco BART station, board a Dublin/Pleasanton BART train and go to the Coliseum BART Station in Oakland, which is adjacent to the Capitol Corridor/Amtrak Coliseum Station platform. You can get from Super Bowl City to Oakland in about half an hour, with BART trains running every 20 minutes. Super Bowl FestivitiesThrougout the Bay Area

Even if you’re not attending the game, there are tons of Super Bowl related events in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area this week.

Super Bowl City presented by Verizon is the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee’s free public fan village in San Francisco and opened on Saturday, January 30. Centered in Justin Herman Plaza, on the Embarcadero at the foot of Market St., Super Bowl City features family-friendly activities, live performances, and cultural displays for fans of all ages. At the Moscone Center, also in downtown San Francisco, there’s NFL Experience Driven by Hyundai. Requiring a ticket for entry, NFL Experience is an interactive theme park offering participatory games, youth football clinics, merchandise from NFL Shop, and free autograph sessions from NFL players. Impacts to Regular Capitol Corridor Service

Besides the special gameday schedule in effect on Sunday, February 7, Capitol Corridor service has been impacted in other ways by Super Bowl preparations and activities throughout the Bay Area. These impacts – which include the suspension of all San Francisco bus stops except the Transbay Temporary Terminal, and the closure of parking lots at the Santa Clara/Great America Station – started in January and will be in effect through February 12, one week after the Super Bowl. If you plan on taking the Capitol Corridor anytime through mid-February, you’ll want to check out our news article about regular service impacts.
