1. Temporary restrooms will be installed at the Sacramento Station
We have just been advised by the City of Sacramento that new temporary restrooms will be open Monday, March 26th, 2012, on the north side of the Sacramento Station for use by the passengers passing through the station as the building restrooms are totally remodeled and improved.
The temporary restrooms will be located immediately outside the main doors to the track area, near where the taxis used to line up. It is anticipated that after approximately two months the station restrooms will be re-opened.
2. Toll-Free phone line – planned service outage, 8AM – 9AM, March 24, 2012
The Capitol Corridor toll-free customer service phone line will be out of service due to software and hardware upgrades from 8:00AM to 9:00AM on Saturday, March 24, 2012. During the outage, callers will not hear any pre-recorded greetings or phone menu options and will be unable to access our Automated Train Status system. The outage is expected to end at 9:00AM when we return to our regularly scheduled business hours for our call center (Daily, 6:00AM to 11:00PM).
3. Discontinuation of complimentary Sacramento Bee on morning trains
Beginning April 1, 2012, Capitol Corridor will no longer offer complimentary copies of the Sacramento Bee on morning trains. The cost of purchasing the papers on behalf of our passengers has risen sharply the last five years and our modest budget can no longer support the cost of this passenger amenity. Passengers will find that the Sacramento Bee offers a variety of articles, and content online at www.sacbee.com that can be accessed using the free Wi-Fi onboard Capitol Corridor trains. You may also purchase paper copies of the Sacramento Bee inside the Sacramento train stations from the metal newspaper kiosks.
