1. 2012-14 Draft Business Plan and Public Workshops

The CCJPA will make the draft version of its 2012-14 Business Plan available to the public on January 20, 2012. We invite you to provide input and comments on this draft. Capitol Corridor will hold public workshops to discuss the business plan, as well as future plans for Capitol Corridor.

You can view the public workshop schedule on the Business Plan page of the CCJPA website and download the draft version of the plan beginning January 20, 2012.
2. Oakland Restaurant Week January 20-29, 2012
Oakland’s cuisine scene is one of the hottest in the country right now. During Oakland Restaurant Week, January 20-29, you’ll find great bargains on prix fixe meals at some of the city’s most exciting dining destinations, including Plum, Bocanova, Miss Pearl’s, Pican and many others. Catch the free Broadway Shuttle (the “B”) at Webster and Embarcadero, located on the corner of the Oakland Jack London station platform, to travel from the station to restaurants in Old Oakland, Chinatown, Downtown, the Uptown Entertainment District and Mid-Broadway. Find out more at www.visitoakland.org/restaurantweek. Capitol Corridor has a variety of evening trains departing from Jack London Square to help you enjoy a leisurely dinner – visit the website for current schedules.
3. Last Season of the Reno Fun Train

Don’t miss your last chance to ride the celebrated Reno Fun Train this winter! The famous Reno Fun Train will operate February 10th and 24th, as well as March 2nd and 9th. The Fun Train is celebrating 49 years of operation and it is a Bay Area institution with no other train like it in America. Unfortunately, 2012 may be the last year the Reno Fun Train is in operation, due to a projected equipment shortage. This special party train features a Dance Car with live dance band, “The Funatics”, Great Dome Sightseer Lounge, Souvenir Shop, Smoking Car with a (new) Cigar Lounge, card magician, and round-trip meals served at reserved seats. Chair Massage is available for purchase. Popular and fun themes highlight each train departure including Mardi Gras departures and Aloha themed party trains.

For information and reservations contact your favorite Travel Agent or Key Holidays, Walnut Creek, CA at (800) 783-0783 or visit KeyHolidays.com or RenoFunTrain.com.
