BART Richmond Station Parking Payment Update

As of July 2023, new users MUST use the BART Official App to purchase parking fees at the BART Richmond Station Parking Lot. The parking validation machine (Clipper Card Reader) is only good for daily fee parking (1 day, no consecutive overnight parking) and ONLY to existing EZ Rider users.

Parking at Richmond Station includes:

  • Daily fee ($3 per day)
  • Carpool to BART options ($3 per day)
  • Single/Multi Day Reserved ($6 per day)
  • Monthly Reserved ($105)

Take Capitol Corridor to Outside Lands 2024!

Take the Capitol Corridor to Outside Lands at Golden Gate Park on August 9-11, 2024! Skip the traffic/parking hassles and enjoy the relaxing car-free commute to one of the largest music festivals in the US! Headliners include Sabrina Carpenter, The Killers, Sturgill Simpson, with Post Malone with a special country set on Sunday.

3 Ways Getting there:

  • Ride the Capitol Corridor to Richmond Station and transfer to BART. Take BART towards SFO/Millbrae directly to Downtown San Francisco. Get off at Montgomery station, walk to Market and Sansome Street stop, and connect to Muni 5/5R to Golden Gate Park. 
  • Ride the Capitol Corridor to Oakland-Jack London Station and walk to the Oakland Ferry Terminal. Take the Ferry towards San Francisco and walk to Embarcadero Station. Take the underground light rail Muni N towards Golden Gate Park.
  • Ride the Capitol Corridor to  Emeryville Station and connect to our dedicated bus that can take you directly to Downtown San Francisco. Walk to Market and Sansome Street stop and connect to Muni 5/5R to Golden Gate Park. 

*Please note that MUNI, BART, and SF Bay Ferry accepts Clipper Card. You can purchase the metro card and load money directly from your phone, our Café Car, or any BART/MUNI Station.

Sacramento Station Parking:
Please note the Sacramento Station Parking Lot/Old Sacramento Garage has limited space and requires a short walk (at least 15 minutes) between the parking lot and platform. Follow the signs and walk to the train platform to board.  Please proceed from the Sacramento Station building to the boarding platform and be ready to board 10 minutes prior to train departure. More information here

Reno Bus Connection Adjustment 8/1-8/6

Due to the Reno Hot August Nights Event, bus connections from Reno to Sparks will not operate from August 1, 2023 to August 6, 2023.

*Bus connections between Sacramento and Reno will continue to operate as scheduled.

Train Adjustments for Taylor Swift Concerts 7/28-29

July 27, 2023

Due to the Taylor Swift’s concerts at Levi’s Stadium on Friday, July 28, 2023 and Saturday, July 29, 2023, here are the following adjustments:

  • Expect more riders than usual on Trains 541/543 and 741/743. Please consider taking an earlier train to minimize crowding onboard, if you have flexibility in your schedule.
  • Trains 548 and 746 are CANCELLED. Passengers are advised to take Train 546 if you have flexibility on your schedule. 
  • Trains 550 and 750 for return service after the concerts are now fully booked.

One Ticket, One Seat Policy
It is important for riders to respect each other’s space and abide by our “One Ticket, One Seat” policy. This means the ticket you purchase entitles you to use only one seat; you may not use additional seats to store your personal belongings. Please store your belongings in the overhead compartment or at your feet, and keep the seat next to you clear for others. This will help to ensure that everyone has a comfortable and safe ride on the Capitol Corridor.

Ticket Change and Flexibility
The Capitol Corridor is an unreserved service with flexible ticket options. This flexibility means that your ticket is valid for travel up to a year from the original travel date and allows you to change travel dates and or trains using your original ticket. No ticket changes are required under these conditions should your travel plans change. Restrictions do apply to tickets purchased using promotions.
