In an era when rail reigned transportation, the African-American porter workforce helped define luxury train travel. For almost a century, Pullman porters worked the sleeping and dining cars that gave white travelers an extravagant riding experience. Pullman porters, who were almost exclusively Black men, are also recognized for their role in developing the Black middle class and advancing civil rights. Daily 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Oakland (OKJ)
Daily 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Updates will be shared if there are any changes to the hours the stations are open.
Annual Business Plan Public Workshops 2024
Between January 23-26, 2024, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority will hold three (3) onboard public workshops and two (2) virtually via Zoom to present its Draft FY 2024-25 – FY 2025-26 Annual Business Plan. The Annual Business Plan presents an overview of the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority’s strategic plan and funding request for the next two fiscal years.
This is an excellent opportunity for current riders or anyone interested in the Capitol Corridor service to learn more about our plans and provide us input. We are excited to bring back in-person public workshops and engage with our riders!
Join us for Cappy Hour on January 23 and 24 onboard! Members of the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority will be available at the Café Car to discuss the Annual Business Plan and answer any questions and feedback you may have.
