Passengers should allow plenty of time at stations prior to departure – at least 45 minutes before if tickets need to be picked up.

Holiday Travel Tips
November and December are some of the busiest months aboard the Capitol Corridor Trains. Below are some travel tips to help make your trip as comfortable and convenient as possible during the hustle and bustle of the season.
• Book tickets in advance online! The Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after Thanksgiving are dates when trains and motorcoach buses are usually full. If you can travel on alternate dates or at off-peak times like early in the morning or late in the evening, your train may be less crowded.
• If your trip includes a motorcoach bus connection, please book in advance to ensure yourself a seat. Print out and bring your ticket confirmation with you aboard the bus. Unreserved travelers may not be able to be accommodated on their first choice motorcoach bus connection.
• Carry a valid, government-issued I.D. with you at all times. Proper identification is required to purchase tickets and ride Capitol Corridor trains and motorcoaches.
• Arrive at the station early to allow plenty of time to find parking, get your tickets, and get on the train safely. If you are boarding from a staffed station and do not pick-up or purchase your ticket before boarding the train, you will be charged a penalty fee for purchasing your ticket onboard the train.
• Mark your luggage with proper identification tags and keep it with you at all times. As a reminder, Capitol Corridor allows passengers to bring aboard 2 pieces of carry-on luggage (Each bag must be less than 50lbs. and not exceed 28″ x 22″ x 14″ inches in size).
• As a courtesy to other passengers, please store your carry-on baggage in the luggage racks, overhead bins, or on the floor under your seat to keep seats open for riders during this busy time.

30-Day Limited Wi-Fi Trial on Capitol Corridor trains
The CCJPA is partnering with Hobnob, a Bay Area-based wireless network solutions firm, to offer a limited wireless network access trial to passengers during the weekdays of December 2008. Hobnob’s technological solution enables us to conduct the test program on a regular train schedule at no cost to you. We selected trains 523 and 542 for this pilot program, so if you want to try the wireless trail sit in car #1 (the car closest to the locomotive) on those trains.

Tots love trains – Habitot’s Train Week, December 1-7th, will thrill aspiring conductors! Children can ride locomotives through the museum, and join in train-themed games. We’ll decorate a giant train sculpture, make conductor’s hats, and paint with wheels. Train stories read daily. Door prizes announced daily at noon.
