Service Change: June 2, 2012 – Bus bridge between Sacramento and Davis stations
The Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) is performing a signal cutover project on June 2, 2012 that will affect some trains traveling between the Sacramento and Davis stations. UPRR will be retiring old signals and activating new ones in the West Sacramento area in preparation for the track realignment into the new Sacramento Station scheduled to take place later this summer.
Bus Bridge: During this signal project, some morning and early afternoon Capitol Corridor trains will not operate between Sacramento and Davis stations. Instead, connecting buses will carry passengers between those two stations. The following trains are expected to be bus-bridged:
Westbound Capitol Corridor trains 733, 737, 741
Eastbound Capitol Corridor trains 720, 724, 728
Buses will operate as close as possible to the published weekend train schedule times between these two stations, honoring Capitol Corridor rail tickets. Trains are expected to operate on the remainder of the route on the published weekend train schedule.
Unaccompanied Minors [Children 15 and younger]: Please be aware that unaccompanied children will not be permitted to transfer between trains and buses for the bus bridge connections between Sacramento and Davis indicated above and as specified in the Amtrak Unaccompanied Minor Policy.
Bicycle Advisory: Due to limited space aboard the motorcoach buses used for the bus bridge, Capitol Corridor strongly discourages cyclists from traveling with bicycles on affected trains between Sacramento and Davis on June 2, 2012.
