On Monday, November 13, 2017, the Capitol Corridor will introduce a new schedule that includes service to a new station, Fairfield-Vacaville (FFV). Located approximately five miles east of the Suisun-Fairfield Station (SUI) at 4921 Vanden Road, Vacaville, 95687, the new Fairfield-Vacaville Station brings the number of Capitol Corridor stations to 18. Tickets for the new station, and for trips taken on or after November 13, 2017, are now available for purchase on the Capitol Corridor website, Amtrak website, and Amtrak app. Fares will remain the same.
New Schedule Highlights
In addition to the new Fairfield-Vacaville Station, highlights of the new schedule include:
- New UC Santa Barbara Connecting Bus Stop: There will be service to a new bus stop located on the University of California Santa Barbara campus. Buses stopping here will provide connecting service to the San Jose-Diridon Station, where passengers can transfer to Capitol Corridor trains.
- Adjusted Departure Times: The departure times of many trains will be adjusted by five to 15 minutes. Some trains may be leaving earlier, and some later, so passengers should be sure to check the new schedule before traveling.
- Shorter Station Stops: In an effort to continue to reduce travel times, all station stops will be no more than one minute, so passengers will need to ensure they are prepared to board and off board the train.
- Winter Adjustments for Connecting Bus Service: Bus schedule changes will also be minimal, reflecting typical wintertime adjustments to allow for possible weather delays.
