As part of the CCJPA's program of improvements between Oakland and San Jose, the CCJPA assisted the City of Oakland in the development of this multimodal station. Recently opened in May 2005, this new station integrates Capitol Corridor trains with AC Transit, BART trains and BART service to Oakland International Airport, in addition to conveniently serving the Oakland Coliseum entertainment complex.
Connecting to Oakland International Airport (OAK)
Take the Capitol Corridor train directly to the Oakland Coliseum station and proceed to the pedestrian bridge connecting to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport BART station. From the BART station, you will be able to board BART's new train to plane service, "BART to OAK," which provides an easy connection to Oakland International Airport. Riders will be able to board one of four three-car automated people movers and take the eight-minute ride at 30mph. Visit bart.gov/guide/airport for more details and schedules. You can also transfer to AC Transit bus service to the airport by using a Transit Transfer. Ask your conductor for a free AC Transit Transfer while on board Capitol Corridor.
